Maggie Foster Update

Maggie is still a little nervous with my son, Alex, but she is getting much more used to him. She even sleeps on his bed with him sometimes. I think pre-teen or teenage boys must have scared or hurt her at some time in the past. She is fine with women and girls, and pretty good with many men, but she's scared of boys (seems ok with younger boys, like 8 years, tho).

Noah and I both think she seems to have filled out a bit, but she's still lean. It also looks like some fur is filling in over her scar on Maggie's neck, and it seems less visible than a few weeks ago. She is *almost* house trained. She still occasionally has an accident indoors, but rarely. She walks well on a leash, but is a bit nervous of strangers.

We are really enjoying having her in our home. Maggie is a cuddler, who really likes to settle in next to her person on the bed when we let her. She gives me enthusiastic welcome home greetings and wiggles her whole body. She nearly always chooses to hang out in whichever room we are (kitchen, TV room, bedroom), and she absolutely adores Noah. She doesn't cling to him, but she likes to check on him, and most often chooses to be where he is. When she's scared she runs to him. She is typically quiet, but she does bark at strangers sometimes. She also barks whenever Noah leaves. She has separation anxiety, even when the rest of us are home, but she settles down in 10-20 minutes.

She and our 9 month old puppy, Cleo, have worked out who is dominant (Maggie is) and now their play seems more like play. It is still very active, but they seem like good friends.
