We had a tremendous adoption weekend with many of our fur-babes finding their homes. We were so excited to meet new adopters and see some old faces. Debbie and Terry brought Guinness back for a visit and decided to add to their tribe with another little Shih Tzu, Greta. With some tears we said goodbye to Frodo who came into the rescue covered in mange, with horrible scabs and wounds filled with oozing yuck. We could see he was such a sweet boy and just wanted to be held and cuddled. And sometimes when you see that, you just don't care about all the vet's warnings about how contagious it is and that first day we just held and snuggled him for hours. Clearly it had been a long time since he was held...but look at him now!
We're so grateful to all of our adopters who gave our beautiful boys and girls a new chance at a wonderful home. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog and for choosing a DPS dog. Please send in your photos. There is nothing more rewarding than to see pictures of our dogs in their new homes.

I have never been so comfortable and relaxed as I am when I hold Frodo next to me, and his warm body curls around mine. Thank you so much DPS for saving our sweet, sweet boy!
